MENO Review
Menopause, a natural biological process in a woman's life, marks the end of menstrual cycles. It's diagnosed after 12 months without a menstrual period and usually occurs in women in their 40s or 50s. Early menopause symptoms (perimenopause) can start as early as the late 30s.
Menopause can bring a myriad of symptoms due to hormonal changes, primarily a drop in estrogen levels.
These symptoms range from hot flashes and night sweats to mood swings, sleep problems, and vaginal dryness. Many women also experience weight gain and thinning hair.
In my time as a menopause advocate, I've discovered that menopause is about more than physical changes. Menopause can also impact mental health, leading to feelings of depression or anxiety. Read more about my journey here.
As someone who is navigating menopause myself and as founder of the LifeBloom Menopause Institute, I understand the complexity and the personal nature of these experiences.
Importance of finding the right supplements for relief.
Finding the right supplements for menopause symptom relief is crucial.
With the right blend of ingredients, supplements can help manage hormonal imbalances and offer relief of the most common symptoms.
It's not just about easing the discomfort; it's about enhancing overall wellbeing during this transition.
As a menopause coach focused on positive aging, I emphasize the importance of informed choices in selecting supplements.
It's not just about what's popular but what's effective and backed by science.
Understanding Menopause Supplements
The role of supplements in managing menopause symptoms.
Supplements play a significant role in managing menopause symptoms.
They work by providing the body with essential nutrients and herbs that may be lacking or imbalanced during menopause.
For instance, ingredients like black cohosh and red clover mimic estrogen, helping to balance hormones and alleviate symptoms like hot flashes and mood swings.
Soy isoflavones, another common ingredient, have been shown to reduce the frequency and severity of hot flashes.
As a professional in women’s health, I find that supplements can be a valuable addition to lifestyle changes and dietary adjustments during menopause.
Find my recommendations below.
Key ingredients to look for (e.g., black cohosh, red clover, soy isoflavones).
When choosing menopause supplements, it's essential to look for key ingredients.
Black cohosh, for example, has been widely studied for its effectiveness in reducing hot flashes and improving sleep quality.
Red clover contains isoflavones that act like estrogen in the body, potentially easing menopausal symptoms.
Soy isoflavones, derived from soybeans, are another crucial ingredient. They are thought to help with menopausal symptoms due to their estrogen-like properties.
My experiences with clients have shown that supplements containing these ingredients can significantly impact the quality of life during menopause.
I personally choose Nature’s Way for my supplements because they prioritize safety and quality. They undergo rigorous third-party testing, which helps ensure that their products meet high standards for purity and potency. The ingredients used are sourced with a commitment to quality, and they strive to avoid unnecessary fillers. Additionally, Nature’s Way products are guaranteed pure, often adhering to strict regulatory standards. When selecting supplements, it's important to consider these factors to ensure you're choosing a brand that aligns with your health needs and values.
It's always important to consult with a healthcare provider before starting any new supplement, especially to ensure it doesn't interact with other medications or health conditions.

Best Gummies for Menopause
Honest reviews from myself and my clients. I'm Dr. Kay Bloom, menopause advocate, researcher, and founder of the LifeBloom Institute. Women’s health is our driving motivation. You are our why! Here's what our investigation found:
1. EstroCare: Comprehensive support with cohosh, rhubarb, red clover, and ginseng.
Price: ~ $79 / month
Company Trust Factor: 1/10
Ingredients Certification: 1/10
Overall Rating: 3/10
Go ahead and quickly search online for EstroCare. What you find? Did you find a bunch of scammy affiliate marketing?
Me too!
These online resources, masquerading as well-researched articles, are primarily driven by financial incentives, creating a misleading portrayal of the product. Essentially they are huge advertisements for profit!
The company: The company behind EstroCare, Fa Nutra Ltd, was established in the UK approximately 1.5 years ago. However, crucial information such as financial records, product content certification, and responses to inquiries about ingredient quality or third-party laboratory verifications remains unanswered. The ownership and operational transparency of Fa Nutra Ltd are also obscure, which raises questions about the credibility of the product.
A critical examination of EstroCare reveals a significant lack of transparency and scientific validation.
Research: Actual research on this product: none. Absolutely zero peer-reviewed research has been done on this product as of the date of this post. (I will update this as I find any new publications or if the company responds to my inquiry with data).
Do I trust it? Nope.
Would I take it? Nope (not without certified ingredients)
EstroCare's website lists the following ingredients per dose:
100mg DHEA
1mg Vitamins B6 and 2.4mcg B12
700μg Vitamin A
25mg Vitamin C
15 mcg Vitamin D
6mg Iron
8mg Zinc
120mg Black Cohosh
80mg Red Clover
300mg Ginseng Extract
6million colonies of each Bifidobacterium animalis & Lactobacillus gasseri
200mg 5-HTP
200mcg Chromium
100mg Soy Isoflavones
100mg Calcium Citrate
200mg Magnesium
200mg 4:1 Maca
4mg Siberian Rhubarb Extract
The ingredients listed in EstroCare are indeed associated with menopausal support. Can you buy all these on your own? You bet’cha!
Its formulation includes black cohosh, known for its efficacy in reducing hot flashes and mood swings.
Rhubarb, another key ingredient, has been studied for its potential in alleviating menopausal symptoms, particularly in improving sleep quality.
Red clover, rich in isoflavones, mimics the effects of estrogen, providing relief from a range of symptoms like night sweats.
Lastly, ginseng adds to the blend by offering mental clarity and energy, which many women find lacking during menopause.
Despite this, the absence of third-party verification and the lack of scientific scrutiny on this specific formulation raise significant concerns. Consumers are essentially left to rely on unverified claims presented on the product's website. The combination of a high price point and a lack of empirical evidence necessitates caution and a critical approach before considering a purchase.
2. BioSchwartz Menopause Support Probiotics for Women: Probiotic and herbal blend for gut and hormonal health.
Price: ~ $21 / month
Company Trust Factor: 5/10
Overall Rating: 6/10
The Company: BioSchwartz is headquartered in Orlando, Florida and has been manufacturing supplements since 2015. An analysis of 73 products and 503,281 reviews for BioSchwartz products gave the company a ranking of C. This is due to the high level of fake reviews on Amazon! Not cool, Bio Schwartz.
Research: none on this particular proprietary blend. I have reached out the company to inquire on internal research and will update this article if any are forthcoming.
The listed ingredients per dose are:
40 billion CFU Probiotic Blend (14 strands)
50mg Prebiotic Blend
150 mg Turmeric
150 mg Red Clover
100 mg Black Cohosh
50mg Chasteberry
50mg Dong Quai
50mg Astragalus
BioSchwartz Menopause Support Probiotics for Women combines a proprietary probiotic blend with herbs, targeting both gut and hormonal health.
Probiotics are crucial for maintaining gut health, which is often overlooked during menopause. A healthy gut contributes to overall well-being and can even impact hormone regulation.
The BioSchwartz Menopause Support Probiotics herbal blend, including ingredients like black cohosh, turmeric, and red clover, addresses common menopausal symptoms.
Turmeric contains curcumin, a natural polyphenol, as a major chemical constituent. It is found to contain bioactivities, such as anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antifungal, cancer chemopreventive, and cancer chemotherapeutic properties.
While 2 women in my circle have complained of GI distress from using this supplement, more than 8 of my of my clients have reported improvements in their digestive health and a reduction in menopausal discomforts after using this supplement.
While I like the idea of a dual approach of probiotics and herbs for those looking to support their gut health while managing menopausal symptoms, I do have concerns over the dishonesty in fake reviews.
In addition, research is still out on if probiotics are even beneficial! Probiotics have shown effectiveness in both preventing and treating a range of medical issues related to the gastrointestinal system. However, evidence for their benefits in other health conditions is inconclusive. (here is a reference for further reading).
Do I trust it? Meh (not thrilled about the fake reviews)
Would I take it? Maybe (IF they provided third-party certifications)

Dong Quai and soybean extract play a significant role in this blend, offering natural hormone-balancing effects.
This supplement is a great example of how a carefully selected blend of natural herbs can provide comprehensive support during menopause, making it a preferred choice for those seeking a more holistic approach. The issue is that we don’t actually know what’s in the jar without seeing a third-party analysis. It can be really, really difficult to find a supplement that is trusted!
Do I trust it? Meh (not thrilled about the fake reviews)
Would I take it? Maybe (IF they provided third-party certifications)

This company is quite epically known for their fake reviews on all their products, earning them a C for overall trustworthiness. As this product has nearly 45% of their reviews listed as fake, this drops the product overall rating from nearly 5/5 to 2/5 and a rating of D.

Of the four probiotics in the blend, bifidobacterium lactis is associated with potential decreases in body mass index (BMI), cholesterol levels, and inflammation. A 2018 research suggested B. lactis as a significant element in a probiotic blend that appeared to lower inflammation.
Turmeric root extract is commonly associated with anti-inflammatory benefits, a boost in antioxidant levels, and support for heart health.
Moringa leaf extract is regarded as beneficial for mental and cognitive health.
Curry leaf extract is thought to aid in digestive health, cholesterol reduction, and promoting healthy hair.

Amberen: Unique blend for multi-symptom relief.
Price: ~ $40/month
Company Trust Factor: 2/10
Overall Rating: 2/10
The Company: Amberen, also know as Biogix, was acquired by Alliance Pharmaceuticals, with a headquarter in California. An analysis of over 21,100 reviews revealed that the company received a grade of C from Fakespot and F from ReviewMeta. An adjusted product review would take Amberen from around 4/5 to 1.6/5.
Research: Their website claims, “45+ Years of Research Into Our Main Ingredients, 4 Peer-Reviewed Publications, 5 Randomized Placebo-Controlled Double-Blind Clinical Trials, 2 Manufacturing Technology Patents.”
So, let’s take a peek. Check out this double-blind, peer-reviewed scientific publication. First of all, double-blind is what we want – as this means neither the researchers nor the subjects knew if they were taking the placebo or Amberen. Peer-reviewed is what we look for, as this means it was reviewed by the community to assess the scientific rigor of the publication.
The bad is that it was funded by Lunada – the very company responsible for the distribution of the product. This is a HUGE red flag. In fact, in 2016, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) announced that Lunada Biomedical Inc. and its three principals settled allegations of deceptive marketing related to the dietary supplement Amberen (read more here).I encourage you to research for yourself. The 2016 article in Gynecological Endocrinology (found here) demonstrates a statistically significant decrease in symptoms of the women who took Amberen. Another study identified Amberen as a Possible Risk Factor of Multivessel Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (read more here).
Testing: Amberen did not share details of their third-party testing laboratory, the results, or the errors in compositions.
Listed Ingredients Per Dose:
5mg Vitamin E
395mg proprietary blend of ammonium succinate, calcium disuccinate, monosodium L-glutamate, Glycine, Magnesium Disuccinate, and Zinc Difumarate.
What’s all this stuff in the proprietary blend, you ask? Ah, yes, we recognize the calcium, magnesium, zinc, … but what about succinate?
There is a lot of current research on the potential health benefits of disuccinates and succinates. Check it out on Google Scholar. According to WebMd, there isn't enough reliable information to know how succinate might work. I want to believe in the potential power of succinates. However, I can’t give this product a higher rating until they clear up their fake reviews, provide more forthcoming research, and until succinates have been proven safe and effective.
Amberen is known for its proprietary blend of ingredients, claiming multi-symptom relief. It targets the root cause of menopausal symptoms by improving the body's hormonal balance. One of the key components of Amberen is succinates, which are believed to boost energy levels and improve overall cellular health. Clients often report a noticeable difference in their energy levels and a reduction in hot flashes and night sweats. Amberen's approach to addressing hormonal imbalances at a cellular level makes it a choice for those seeking a comprehensive solution to menopausal symptoms.

Why Gummies for Menopause?
The convenience and ease of taking gummies.
Gummies for menopause have gained popularity for their convenience and ease of use.
Many of my clients in the LifeBloom program appreciate the simplicity of taking a gummy compared to swallowing pills or capsules. This form is particularly appealing for those who find traditional supplements hard to digest or have difficulty swallowing pills.
Gummies also come with the added benefit of a pleasant taste, making the daily regimen of taking supplements less of a chore and more of a treat.
The format of gummies also allows for easy dosage control. Each gummy is typically standardized with a specific amount of active ingredients, ensuring consistency in what you're consuming. For busy women over 40, who often juggle multiple responsibilities, the simplicity of a gummy supplement can make a significant difference in maintaining a regular supplement routine.
Furthermore, the portability of gummies means they can be taken on the go, fitting seamlessly into any lifestyle.
MENO Gummies for Menopause
Among the various gummy options available, MENO Gummies for Menopause are a top seller.
These gummies are formulated with a blend of ingredients specifically targeted at easing menopause symptoms. Ingredients like black cohosh, red clover, and soy isoflavones are included in optimal amounts to provide relief from hot flashes, night sweats, and mood swings.
My clients often report a preference for MENO Gummies due to their palatable taste and the absence of any unpleasant aftertaste, a common issue with some pill-based supplements.
The ease of incorporating MENO Gummies into their daily routine has led to higher compliance and, consequently, more consistent relief from menopausal symptoms.
This aligns well with the focus of my LifeBloom program, which is about making positive aging as seamless and enjoyable as possible.
Choosing the Right Supplement
Factors to consider: ingredients, dosage, certifications, customer reviews, and price.
Choosing the right menopause supplement is crucial for effective symptom management.
The first factor to consider is the ingredients.
It's important to look for supplements that contain proven ingredients like black cohosh, red clover, soy isoflavones, and others known for their efficacy in treating menopausal symptoms. The dosage of these ingredients is equally important; too little may be ineffective, while too much can lead to side effects.
Certifications can also play a vital role in the selection process. Supplements that are certified organic, non-GMO, and gluten-free offer an added layer of assurance about the quality of the product. It's also advisable to choose supplements that have undergone third-party testing for purity and potency.
Customer reviews and testimonials provide valuable insights into the effectiveness of the supplements from real users. While individual experiences can vary, a trend in positive reviews can be a strong indicator of a product's efficacy.
Price is another consideration, though it should not be the sole deciding factor. It's often worth investing in a higher-priced supplement if it means better quality ingredients and a higher likelihood of effectiveness. However, it's important to find a balance between quality and affordability.
Finally, consulting with a healthcare provider before starting any new supplement is essential. This is particularly important for women who may have underlying health conditions or are taking other medications. A healthcare provider can offer personalized advice based on individual health needs and ensure that the supplement chosen will not interact negatively with other medications or health conditions.
In conclusion, when choosing a menopause supplement, it's important to consider a combination of factors including ingredients, dosage, certifications, customer reviews, and price. Consulting with a healthcare professional is also a critical step in this process.
As a life coach specializing in women’s health, I emphasize the importance of making informed choices that align with one’s individual health needs and lifestyle.
